Un accidente recently occurred in Madrid, Spain, involving a young girl and a police vehicle. The incident took place on April 28th around 1:30 pm at 30 Paseo de Extremadura. The girl, who was crossing the street with her family, suffered minor injuries after falling to the ground.
The police have since released a report stating that their vehicle was not being driven by the director of the force, Pablo Enrique Rodríguez, at the time of the incident. The car, which was a camouflaged police vehicle, had its emergency lights on and was driving with caution due to a power outage that had caused traffic light failures in the area.
According to the girls mother, the vehicle hit her daughters knee as they were crossing the street, causing her to fall. However, two eyewitnesses claim that the car was driving at a normal speed and that the woman pulled her daughters arm, causing her to fall. The witnesses did not see any initial impact between the girl and the vehicle, but they couldnt rule out the possibility that she may have been grazed by the cars rear.
A breathalyzer test was not administered to the driver as the police car was not equipped with one. The police also did not see any signs of intoxication in the driver and were dealing with other urgent matters due to the power outage.
The police report states that there were 23 accidents with minor injuries on April 28th, and in 18 of those cases, no breathalyzer tests were performed for similar reasons. As of May 7th, the police have not received any formal complaint or legal request regarding the incident. The girls injuries were minor, and no further action will be taken unless a complaint or court order is received.,
