In a separate incident, a police officer was killed in Tultitlán while trying to prevent a robbery at a local Oxxo store. The officer, Raúl Alejandro Cruz Hernández, was shot by the fleeing suspects and died instantly. Despite an extensive search, the perpetrators remain at large.

In early March, a newborn baby was found in a bag of garbage by a waste collector in Tultitlán. Despite efforts to revive the baby, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The mother was later arrested.
